CSNN's Elder Care Program is a Diploma Program leading to the professional designation of Registered Elder Care Practitioner, (R.E.C.P)™. The program consists of 10 courses. It may be completed in one year (daytime) or two years (evening). Check with the nearest CSNN branch for a complete schedule. The program is not deemed completed until the student has successfully passed all 10 courses while maintaining an average of 80% or higher, has logged in 60 hours of work in the care of one or more elders, and has completed CPR training with a reputable organization such as St. John's Ambulance. The courses in this program may be taken in any order, although we recommend following the order given. Classroom instruction and practicum total 228 hours. Students are invited to attend an orientation session before they begin the program.
