In conjunction with the Elder Care Practitioner's™ program, the student is required to devote 60 hours of voluntary (or paid if applicable) work to the care of one or more elders in order to qualify for a Diploma in Gerontology from CSNN. Each student is responsible for securing his/her own position. These hours of volunteer work must be recorded on the form provided by CSNN and verified by a qualified health care professional or institutional supervisor. Taking care of an aging parent or relative at home will be accepted, if the duties are described and confirmed by a qualified health care professional (form provided).
