RHN Program - Frequently Asked Questions
1. What are the benefits of classroom instruction? Of distance education studies?
2. How long does it take to complete the Natural Nutrition program?
3. What are practicums and are they covered in the tuition cost?
- Over 100 practicum hours per academic year are available to classroom students. The main focus of practicums is working on case studies; however, practicums include client/practitioner role-playing, assessment and interview skill development, guest speakers form the industry, plus a variety of additional holistic nutrition topics not covered in the program. Practicums are run by qualified holistic nutritionists who have experience in the industry.
Students also have the option of completing 14 external practicums as part of the practicum hours requirement. Students gain industry experience in external practicums, which are offered independently of CSNN and take place at external venues.
Practicums are covered in the cost of classroom tuition.
4. What are case studies?
- Basically, case studies are practice client assessments, so that students gain experience before they graduate and have their own holistic nutrition practice. Each student is required to complete 14 case studies including follow up assessments, in order to be eligible to graduate. Case studies provide the student with practical experience in assessing the client’s individual nutritional needs and in making nutritional and lifestyle recommendations.
