You will attend Mon & Wed mornings from 9:00am – 1:00pm. Occasionally classes will end early between 12:00 and 1:00pm.
You also must get 50 hours of practicals. Those are *generally* held Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. However, practical hours can vary slightly.
You will receive your program as soon as you are registered so that you can plan your year!
Yes, absolutely! However, for best practices and to ensure your best success in the program, we suggest you are working part time.
A practical is a class that enhances the learning experience of the student. Practicals are learning moments outside of the theory classes offered. They can be a concentrated topic, such as “liver health” or “thyroid health”, or they can be a class that helps you build community connections. They can also be farm tours or an education moment on making natural health products.
You are offered about 85 hours of practicals, and each student has to get 50 hours in order to graduate.
Some practicals are mandatory.

Since our Graduates’ designations are the most recognized in the holistic nutrition industry, companies seek out CSNN Graduates to fill their employment opportunities. Job ads are posted in the classroom, on the graduate section of the website, and on Distance Education’s online chat group. CSNN graduates also qualify to join the Canadian Association of Holistic Nutrition Professionals (CAHN-Pro) and the Canadian Association of Natural Nutritional Practitioners (CANNP).
CSNN Edmonton has a job search program, whereby students and grads are notified of opportunities in their area.
Yes, we are a designated school. Funding or subsidy programs will often only participate in schools which are designated in Alberta.
In Alberta, CSNN’s Natural Nutrition program is licensed under the Private Vocational Training Act with AB Advanced Education.
Yes, CSNN provides tuition and education tax receipts to students.

You can count on being in school 4 times per week on average. Each “time” is approx a 3 hour time slot.
