Courtney Harris is an Accredited Music Therapist, Registered Holistic Nutritionist, and Certified Intuitive Eating Counsellor who resides in Kitchener, Ontario. Most proudly, she is a mom to two young daughters. Based on previous experience in the mental health field and after the birth of her first daughter, Courtney became passionate about helping kids discover healthy body image. She believes that it is essential for kids to feel loved and worthy as they are in each moment.
In 2022, Courtney founded her creative arts company “You Are What You Create.” You Are What You Create has the mission of helping kids get creative and discover joy from within. Through engaging in creative programming (music, art, and movement), she hopes kids recognize their inner strengths and incorporate these into a healthy self-esteem outside appearance and diet.
To further help parents & children understand the complexities of developing a healthy relationship to food and body, she wrote a children’s book “The Many Great Things About Food (and You).” This book helps young children understand the many purposes of food (nutrition, culture, community, etc.), all while reminding them that eating may look different each day and that’s A-OK – it’ who they are on the inside that truly matters.
I completed the distance program with CSNN while I was pregnant with my first daughter. The ability to study remotely and at my own pace really allowed me to prioritize learning, while also not giving up important family time. When I first began studying with CSNN, I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted to do, but I knew I wanted to better understand nutrition and how to help clients navigate it in a way that promotes a healthy relationship with food vs lecturing them on what foods are healthy. I found that the holistic approach of the Natural Nutrition Diploma was essential to delivering this message. Through engaging in courses on nutrition and its connection to spirit and mind, I developed a better understanding of how nutrition impacts our mental health. I also learned a lot about the science behind nutrition through courses such as the Anatomy & Physiology course. I carry with me valuable business skills through engaging in the business courses offered. I highly recommend this program to anyone wishing to learn more about holistic nutrition and how it affects us across the ages! I use the knowledge learned both personally and professionally each day!
