Shanon is a bilingual Registered Holistic Nutritionist specializing in family wellness and pediatric nutrition. After focusing on adult digestive health and the gut-brain connection, Shanon expanded her practice to also support young children and their families. Driven by her passion to raise her own family using a balanced approach to meals and also a special interest in working with children with autism, she completed the Advanced Pediatric Certification in 2024.
Today, Shanon helps families navigate the challenges of picky eating, build nutrient-dense and balanced meals, and establish healthy lifestyle habits. Bridging the gap between nutritional education and practical parenting, she frequently collaborates with a private speech therapy clinic in Orleans, ON to provide virtual workshops for parents and also has co-hosted ‘Social Snack Time’ – an innovative in-person joint Speech-Language Pathology (SLP) and Registered Holistic Nutritionist (R.H.N.) group designed to provide a safe, social environment to comfortably explore new foods.
Shanon lives in rural Ottawa on a small hobby farm with her husband and 4 children. In addition to running her nutrition practice, she also practices as a Communicative Disorders Assistant.
I chose CSNN after struggling for years with IBS and mental health issues. An online search led me to register for the Healthy Eating and Lifestyle workshop offered by CSNN in 2021. The instructor leading the course was so passionate about nutrition and it shone through in her lectures. When she mentioned the Natural Nutrition program, I couldn’t get it out of my head and made the decision that this is where I needed to be. I registered a few months later and never looked back.
The courses were carefully designed to include recent research and real-life examples, and the people who taught them were knowledgeable and incredibly supportive. The fast pace of the full-time program was intense, but I never felt alone. I not only had my teachers and the coordinator, but also a community of supportive classmates which led to friendships that continue to last to this day. Today, I am proud to balance my full-time career with a rewarding part-time nutrition practice. CSNN gave me the tools I needed to manage my own health while allowing me to confidently support other families on the side.
