Tell us about yourself!

I received my Red Seal as a French Cuisine Chef in 1996 and my Holistic Nutrition certification in 2005.  I started my own business in 2007, because I really didn’t like waking up early to go work for somebody else.

In November 2018 I received my certification  for the FMD (fasting mimicking diet) by Prolon and I have become an expert in TRE (time restricted eating). I became a first time author in 2020 with my book Two Little F Words- Feasting and Fasting your way to optimal health.

In the past I have taught hundreds of CSNN students with my colleague Barb Thomas in Calgary and Nanaimo with our prep ahead workshop. I have nourished Jenny McCarthy and her son Evan in Calgary and in L.A. I have been published in several health magazines for gluten free no refined sugar recipes and Alzheimer’s prevention.

For the past 18 years I have been cooking for private clients on a weekly or monthly basis; I create specific menus for their unique needs and fill their fridge or freezer with healthy whole foods. I am also currently teaching cooking classes online, I hold optimal health retreats and workshops that are focused on prevention and general optimal health. My most popular workshops are on Alzheimer’s prevention, perimenopause, endometriosis, fasting and metabolic flexibility.

Biohacking, functional medicine and quantum physics is something that I incorporate into my practice every day.

Why did you decide to work in this industry?

I saw people getting sicker and sicker and developing chronic diseases that were supposed to be eradicated by what mainstream medicine was suggesting. I knew there had to be a different way. I wanted to make a difference in people’s health journey and be a part of something meaningful.

What brought you to study holistic nutrition at CSNN?

I chose holistic nutrition because it looks at the body as a whole being- mind, body and soul. Holistic nutrition has a curiosity for the root cause.

How did you choose your specialty/area of focus?

I am a Red Seal Chef by trade, I didn’t want to let go of that passion so once I graduated from CSNN it was then time for me to integrate both passions.

What does a typical work day look like for you?

A typical work week looks like a 4 day week, working about 7-8 hours a day. Nurturing and nourishing my clients with healthy whole food specific for their dietary needs. I also dedicate some of those days to teaching online, holding retreats and improving my knowledge with the latest functional medicine research.

What was your career "a-ha" moment?

The moment I had the chance to nourish Jenny Macarthy’s son Evan (who had autism) and see him become more alert and attentive was the moment I realized how powerful whole food and intuitive work was.

“I wanted to tell you that my session I had with you about 2 years ago has changed my life profoundly and I cannot thank you enough. The TRE, the blue-blockers, the books you suggested- they have all been a god send and sent me down a path that I am forever grateful for. I can’t ever go back to my old life. My husband and I were talking about you the other day and he said “well you certainly can’t argue with her results and how much she has done for you. It’s been amazing”. And he’s right. Even though the menopause is playing with my emotions a bit- I feel mentally stronger than I have in a very long time too. And I think that is thanks to diet, sleep and also not willing to settle for less than a stellar life. So I thank you immensely. You are a wonderful person and your knowledge and kindness has changed me forever.”

Client Testimonial for Christina

What is your favourite thing about what you do?

My favourite thing about what I do is knowing that I am helping increase my clients awareness and health and showing them that the body expresses what the mind suppresses.

What's your go-to recipe?

I have too many to share but one of my favourites is my soft chewy cassava tortillas stuffed with whatever whole foods I have in my fridge.

What are your 3 favourite things in your fridge/pantry?

My three favourite things in my pantry are cost effective, local and whole.

I chose CSNN because I felt it had a great foundation for understanding the wholeness of a being. I wanted to compliment my Red Seal as a Chef and learn how to nourish my clients with more intention.
