Chelsey Allen, R.H.N. (2015)
Chelsey Allen is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology & Communications. Chelsey brings 10+ years of experience in public relations, brand strategy, freelance writing and account management. Upon graduating from CSNN, she joined an integrative wellness practice in Whistler and worked closely with clients in supporting endocrine health and autoimmune wellness. Relocating to the Sunshine Coast in 2016, she completed the Social Enterprise Program through the faculty of Economic Development at SFU and founded her business Seafoam Juice. Chelsey operates her business seasonally while working in creative marketing & design and maintaining a part-time consulting practice. She continues to support clients in cultivating balance and achieving optimal well-being. Through facilitating workshops and local farmers’ market events, she thrives in nourishing her community and supporting intuitive health habits. She teaches Fundamentals of Business at the CSNN Vancouver branch.
Nathalie D. Allen, ND
Nathalie has been a well-respected Science Instructor at CSNN Vancouver since 1999. She received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Portland, Oregon in 1997, and is an Instructor at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. Nathalie teaches Anatomy & Physiology, and Pathology & Nutrition.
Erika Arnold, R.H.N. (2018)
Erika is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and Certified Yoga Teacher helping individuals connect with their love and care for the Earth with a passion for sustainability and zero waste living. Growing up in the Fraser valley, Erika developed an appreciation for eating locally, seasonally, and the importance of knowing where food comes from and the relationships we can develop with the individuals growing and raising it. Her outlook on Holistic Nutrition very much embodies these properties by helping individuals on their wellness journey learn the importance of personal health from an inner and outer perspective from what you consume to your surroundings. Outside of teaching the Eco Nutrition portion of the program at CSNN and teaching yoga, Erika also owns and operates a mobile zero waste shop called The Refillery. Through The Refillery, she supplies her customers with all natural, locally made, plant based, and biodegradable refills of household cleaners, soaps, detergents, and body care. Erika also loves to teach and offer insight on pursuing a more sustainable and earth friendly life through speaking engagements and workshops.
Lucie Bohan, CEC, R.H.N. (2014)
Lucie is a Certified Executive Coach and Registered Holistic Nutritionist. She was professionally steeped in 10+ years of coaching before launching her own coaching and consulting practice. Lucie works with trailblazers on the path between no longer and not yet, helping them go from “stuck” to “lit from within” so they can radiate confidence for the road ahead. She paves the way with courageous conversation, asking powerful questions that challenge clients to unlock from limitations holding them back physically, mentally, spiritually and emotionally. Clients often describe Lucie’s soulful coaching presence as finding the calm in the storm. Lee Bougie, M.Sc., R.H.N. (2011)
Lee graduated from CSNN Vancouver in 2011, and has a Master of Science in Experimental Pathology from the University of Alberta. She has many years of experience in research, and has taught at the University of Alberta and University of Western Ontario. In addition to teaching at CSNN, she offers nutritional consultation at a naturopathic clinic and works as a natural health advisor for a pharmacy that provides natural and holistic alternatives. Lee teaches the Fats Corequisite.

Sarah J. Cuff, PTS, R.H.N. (2012)
Sarah is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional, Personal Training Specialist, and holds a Bachelor of Social Studies from the University of Ottawa. She has been working in the fitness industry since 2004 as a fitness instructor (certified by Les Mills International), a personal trainer (certified by CanFitPro), and since 2012 as a sports nutritionist. Since founding her company, Eat 2 Run Sports Nutrition, she has successfully worked with and developed personalized sports nutrition programs for hundreds of athletes. She also regularly gives talks, seminars, and workshops in the community. As a dedicated runner, Sarah has completed 17 marathons with a personal best of 3:30:31 as well as many more half-marathons and shorter races. Sarah teaches Lifecycle Nutrition-Sports.
Cletus D’Souza M.Sc, Ph.D
Cletus D’Souza is a biomedical sciences researcher with a keen interest in the role of natural compounds in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. Cletus has a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition, and a Ph.D in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He has 24 years’ experience in diverse research areas that include microbial development and pathogenesis, bioinformatics of gene expression in the brain, bioinformatics of fungal genome analysis, and clinical research in integrative medicine. He strongly believes in the integration of complementary medicine with conventional medicine and the importance of bridging the gap between research and evidence-based clinical practice through sound clinical studies and knowledge translation. He actively supports raising awareness of integrative medicine through patient and physician education and promotion of healthy lifestyle choices through community awareness efforts. Cletus teaches Biochemistry, Genetics and Epigenetics.
Nicole Duelli, C. Hom
Nicole Duelli is a certified classical homeopath, naturopathic practitioner (Germany) who has enjoyed sharing her knowledge of homeopathy and natural health for over 16 years. As a writer, Nicole has written dozens of articles in magazines such as Alive. She was homeopathic editor and a major contributor to Alive’s award-winning Encyclopedia of Natural Healing (1997). As an instructor, she teaches at CSNN Vancouver, supervises students at the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy, and is guest lecturer at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. In her Vancouver practice since 1995, she encourages everyone to test the restorative powers of homeopathy. Nicole teaches Anatomy & Physiology and Allergies.
Andrea Durst, R.H.N. (2016)
Andrea is a 2016 CSNN Vancouver-branch graduate who has also completed both Undergraduate and Master’s degrees in Applied Human Nutrition from the University of Guelph, in Ontario, and Mount Saint Vincent University, in Nova Scotia. In the classroom, Andrea offers a unique focus on holistic nutrition, which integrates her background in gardening, her passion for research and her experience as a personal trainer. In addition to teaching at CSNN, Andrea is a health educator in the supplement industry and an avid cyclist. Andrea teaches Nutritional Literature Research, Lifecycle Nutrition: Sports and Lifecycle Nutrition: Perspectives on Aging.
Sara Gebriel, R.H.N. (2003)
Sara is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional (2003), and senior instructor at CSNN, supporting instructors and students to be their best (2005-Present). She is founder of Present Health Consulting where she offers advanced training to guide people to who they are, what they want and how to live it. Her nutrition philosophy is, “Eat Real Food” and she experiences nutrition as a vehicle to inspire consciousness through nourishing the body, balancing the mind and enlivening the spirit.
Katherine Hastie, R.H.N.
Katherine is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional and a trained culinary and pastry chef. She works full time as a farmer at the UBC Farm and is passionate about local and sustainable plant based foods. Katherine enjoys sharing her knowledge of preparing and growing healthy food with the students at CSNN, and she loves getting students excited about cooking and spending time in the kitchen. Katherine teaches a special series of cooking classes in whole and natural foods nutrition in our state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen.
Kate Hutchinson, R.H.N. (2009), C.G.P., Certified GAPS Practitioner (2011), B.A.
Kate is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional, a Certified GAPS Practitioner, and a mother. She runs a family-oriented nutrition consulting practice working mainly with clients on the autism spectrum, and is passionate about education, empowering families, and the connections between nutrition and mental health. Kate teaches Allergies, Lifecycle Nutrition: Aging, and Body-Mind-Spirit: The Mind Connection.
Alison (Aly) Lewis, R.H.N. (2014)
As a practicing R.H.N., Aly’s passion lies in educating women who struggle with adult acne on how holistic food and lifestyle choices can clear up their skin. She enjoys hosting natural skincare workshops, and can make a mean natural deodorant that actually works! Using her 10+ years of experience in communications and digital marketing, Aly teaches Fundamentals of Business at the Vancouver branch. Aly also runs a coaching and consulting practice dedicated to helping new wellness practitioners bridge the gap between school and starting their own businesses. The core of her work revolves around helping practitioners define their messaging, craft strategic websites, and build unique offerings that reflect the practitioners’ personal values and experiences.
Keyrsten McEwan, R.H.N. (2009)
Keyrsten graduated from CSNN Vancouver in 2009. Since then she has been in private practice at Integrative Healing Arts in Vancouver as well as in South Delta and specializes in weight loss and sports nutrition. She works with individuals, couples and families as well as facilitates workshops and cooking classes. She is passionate about making nutrition fun and brings clients back to basics with fresh, local, real food. Keyrsten teaches Nutritional Symptomatology, and Hormone Health.
Julia O’Loughlin, R.H.N. (2009)
Julia is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional and graduate of the University of Victoria, where she studied the roles of women in health, food and farming. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional, Julia has worked in her private practice to help her clients towards a realization of their best and individual approach to balance and wellness through optimal nutrition. She is also the facilitator of a youth program called Earth Bites and works with over 200 hundred elementary school youth year round to educate them on healthy eating practices, cooking, gardening and sustainability. Julia has a keen interest in applying theories and practices of holistic nutrition to prevention of and recovery from addictions. Renee Pelletier, R.H.N. (2008)
Renee is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist and a practitioner of Auricular and Bioenergetic Medicine from the Renascent Integral Health Centre in Milton, Ontario. She is sensitive to subtle energy and uses a unique synthesis of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Medical Intuition, Bioenergetic Medicine, Homeopathy, Oligotherapy, and Gemmotherapy in her practice. Using the pulse, she reads the body and gets to the root issue of physical illness and emotional trauma. Renee is also a health educator and a writer for the supplement industry. Shawn Peters, R.H.N. (2006), B.A.
Shawn in a Registered Holistic Nutritionist (Calgary, 2006) and is currently completing his studies in Naturopathic Medicine from Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. Shawn has taught many courses during his time at CSNN in Calgary, while in Vancouver he currently teaches Fundamentals of Nutrition. Shawn believes in helping others take charge of their health, knowing that healthy choices come from a place when we are our best. Shawn teaches Fundamentals of Nutrition I and Pathology & Nutrition.
Andrea Potter, R.H.N. (2009)
Andrea is a classically trained, Red Seal Chef and Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional. Andrea teaches Culinary Nutrition classes at the Vancouver branch of the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition. Andrea founded her business Rooted Nutrition in 2009, as a recent graduate of CSNN. Through Rooted Nutrition cooking classes, workshops and nutrition education, Andrea helps her clients to integrate healthy and delicious food choices into their lives. Her cooking classes pair sound nutrition information with whole foods based, beautifully prepared recipes. Both interactive and fun, her classes convey her love of real food, community, and culture.
Ewa Reid, R.H.N. (2017)
Ewa Reid is a Nutritional Consultant and Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional. After completing the CSNN Natural Nutrition and Holistic Culinary Program in 2017, Ewa began teaching Fundamentals of Business and Motivational Interview Skills at the Vancouver Branch. Ewa combines 15 years of business and nonprofit management with an innate passion for the health of people and planet. Her purpose-driven approach to business helps students find their calling after graduation while gaining invaluable skills for a thriving practice. Outside the classroom, Ewa runs her own consulting practice, helping women and families live in optimal wellness. Her “health is balance” approach to optimal nutrition uses mindfulness and strategic eating to take the stress and guesswork out of a healthy diet – making room in life for what matters most to each individual.
Mike Reyes, B.Sc., M.Sc., R.H.N. (2017)
Mike is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ graduated from CSNN Vancouver in 2017 and holds a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a Master of Science in Environmental Science both obtained from the University of the Philippines. He is a trained industrial professional, having worked in Quality Assurance, Quality Control, and Research and Development for more than 15 years, and he has taught University level courses in Environmental Science, Research and Lab techniques abroad. Mike teaches Biochemistry, Genetics and Epigenetics at CSNN and also runs his own business, Nova Forte Nutrition and Wellness.
Karen Ryan, R.H.N. (2015)
Karen Ryan is both a certified clinical nutritionist and registered holistic nutritionist and spent many years working in nutrition services in the hospital system. Karen’s focus shifted over 12 years ago, though, when her son was diagnosed with ADHD and severe anxiety at a very young age. She now runs an ADHD clinic out of the Finlandia Health Centre, specializing in drug free strategies for managing both ADHD and mental wellness and is the founder of VancouverADHD and EverydayADDvice magazine. She is also the author of ‘ADHD is not a Four Letter Word’ and works hard to help children and youth advocate for themselves as well as empower their parents into making informed choices about mental health treatments. Karen currently teaches Body-Mind-Spirit: The Mind Connection.
Liane Ross, M.A.
Liane has over 15 years of Horticulture experience as a Grower, Certified Permaculture Designer and Horticultural Therapist. Liane is passionate about connecting people and nature. She has taught hundreds of children how to grow food in outdoor classrooms, children really do eat everything they grow. She also works with Coast Mental Health as a Horticulture Therapist and is an active board member with the Canadian Horticultural Therapist Association. Liane also loves to work with and supports social entrepreneurs as a consultant and mentor. Liane was a founding board member for Canadian Business for Social Responsibility and lead up VanCity’s Ethics in Action Awards for several years. She has a BComm in Finance and an interdisciplinary MA from SFU. Liane teaches Eco-Nutrition, Body-Mind-Spirit: The Spirit Connection, and Introduction to Home Use of Herbs.

Connie is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist, graduating from CSNN Vancouver in 2016. She loves working with clients and families, one-on-one to achieve their health goals and is the owner of Nutritious Life Consulting. Her focus is digestive health, weight loss and mental well-being for positive outcomes and she educates clients for their long-term health and happiness. Connie also works with athletes and conducts nutrition seminars for work teams. She supports clients in Vancouver and on Pender Island. Connie teaches Fundamentals of Nutrition I and II.

Vanessa Sorenson is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist specializing in autoimmune wellness. In addition to teaching at CSNN, Vanessa offers one-on-one holistic nutrition consulting services where she is committed to a collaborative approach to helping individuals make sustainable changes towards personal balance and health. With a passion for both nutrition and teaching, she also produces a YouTube channel devoted to the promotion of a holistic approach to autoimmune wellness. Preeti is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional; graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, Vancouver, BC, 2010 with Distinguished Merit. She received her Masters of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from Delhi University, India, 1997. Since then she has worked as a nutritionist at A.I.I.M.S (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), New Delhi, India and then as a dietetic technician at the General Clinical Research Centre, Stanford Hospital, California, USA. She has a passion for cooking and loves to share her culinary skills. Preeti brings her vast nutrition knowledge into practice through her well-established holistic cooking workshops at various centres in the Lower Mainland. Preeti teaches Fundamentals of Nutrition I & II and Ayurveda I & II.
Ryan Takagi, DC, MSc, BKin
Ryan is a Chiropractor in Vancouver with a love for learning. He completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology at UBC, then went on to earn a Master of Science in Human Nutrition & Functional Medicine and a Doctor of Chiropractic from the University of Western States in Portland, Oregon. His clinical and personal interests include sports injury & chronic pain management, positive youth development, and athletic performance. In addition to his Chiropractic practice, he volunteers some of his mornings coaching the SFU Rowing Crew. Ryan teaches Anatomy & Physiology, Biochemistry, Genetics & Epigenetics, and Lifecycle Nutrition: Pediatrics. Robert Wilson-Smith, R.H.N. (2011)
Robert is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional and a professional chef. He is a graduate of New York City’s Natural Gourmet Institute (2007) and has worked in some of Vancouver’s best known vegetarian, vegan, and raw food restaurants as well as at yoga retreats in Mexico and India. Robert believes that food politics and a love for the environment cannot be separated from wellness and nutrition. He flavours his CSNN cooking classes with these beliefs and a passion for healthy food. Robert is a certified yoga teacher and has been fueled by a plant-based diet since 2000. Robert teaches a special series of cooking classes in whole and natural foods nutrition in our state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen, Fundamentals of Nutrition I & II, and Eco-Nutrition.
Brendan Young, R.H.N. (2010)
Brendan graduated with merit in 2010 from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Vancouver. Drawing from his roots in organic gardening and farming, Brendan has been working as the nutritional coordinator for EarthBites since 2011. This youth centered gardening and nutrition program allows Brendan to connect with over a thousand children each year in Vancouver elementary schools and youth clubs, teaching them how to grow their own healthy foods and turn them into yummy snacks. You can also find Brendan at the Trout Lake Farmers Market each summer where he helps his family provide fresh, local, organic produce from their Stein Mountain Farm. Brendan teaches Fundamentals of Nutrition I & II, Nutritional Literature Research, Lifecycle Nutrition: Pediatrics, and Eco-Nutrition.
Kate McLaughlin, R.H.N. (2011)
Kate is the owner of CSNN’s Vancouver branch. She has 15 years of experience working in the communications and marketing sectors both in Canada and the UK. Kate’s fascination with the workings of the human body and the idea that food has a direct correlation with how our bodies can function and thrive (or decline in some cases) brought her to CSNN where she graduated with merit in 2011. Kate’s passion for finding ways to bring the body back into balance has since led her to become a registered yoga teacher and doula. She loves seeing the amazing work our graduates are doing out in the world and feels very privileged to be able to witness their journeys.
Sandra Abraham, R.H.N. (2008)
Sandra is our Project Administrator and is responsible for all class schedules, instructor schedules, and other calendar activities in addition to supporting a variety of administrative functions. She has over 25 years of experience as an executive assistant and administrator managing multifaceted issues and projects in a wide variety of sectors. Sandra graduated from CSNN’s Vancouver branch with merit in 2008, where she was able to enhance her knowledge of nutrition and its direct effect on good health and well-being, which has always been an area of interest.
Jennifer Rapske, R.H.N. (2014)
Jenn is our Academic Advisor and one of many Corequisite Instructors. Jenn has 15 years of administrative experience in a variety of workplaces related to private and public healthcare. Her passion for healthy eating and physical activity led her to obtain a degree in human kinetics. It was during this time when she began to deepen her understanding of the connection between nutrition, optimal health, and disease prevention. Looking to further explore her personal health and wellness, Jenn enrolled at CSNN in 2013. An avid food lover and active in the community, you can find Jenn volunteering with like-minded organizations, shopping her neighborhood farmers’ market, exploring culinary hot-spots, and hiking local trails.
Aleia Enders, R.H.N. (2016)
Aleia is our Marketing and Finance Coordinator. Aleia has over 5 years of experience in both customer service and administrative roles. She has recently moved to Vancouver from Kelowna, where she was the Office Administrator at the CSNN Kelowna branch. Fascinated with the connection between body and mind, Aleia has dedicated her time to expanding her knowledge and capabilities in both yoga and nutrition. In 2014, Aleia traveled to India to complete her 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training. Upon returning from her travels, Aleia immediately registered for the Natural Nutrition Diploma Program at CSNN in order to use nutrition in combination with yoga to better her own health as well as the health of those around her.
Anita Grey, R.H.N. (2018)
Anita joined our Administrative Team on a part-time basis in March 2019. After graduating in August 2018 Anita knew from the get-go that she wanted to be a part of the CSNN school and community. After seeing a posting to work Saturdays, she quickly approached the school with her application. She joins us with 20+ years of administrative and customer service experience with a true passion for nutrition, holistic well-being and most predominantly a desire to support the students, their learning experience and for the ongoing success of CSNN. Anita also holds a Certificate in Health Coaching from the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, and has a Bachelor of Commerce in Entrepreneurialship from Royal Roads University. It is Anita’s hope and dream to incorporate her learning and skills and to collaborate with CSNN and other R.H.N.’s to contribute to our ever-growing industry of natural nutrition and the training of nutrition professionals.
Collectively Kate, Jenn, Aleia and Anita ensure the smooth operation at our busy front desk and oversee the day-to-day administrative needs of the students and faculty.
