Nathalie D. Allen, N.D.


Nathalie has been a well-respected Science Instructor at CSNN Vancouver since 1999. She received her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the National College of Naturopathic Medicine, Portland, Oregon in 1997, and is an Instructor at Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. Nathalie teaches Anatomy & Physiology, and Pathology & Nutrition.

Lee Bougie, M.Sc., R.H.N. (2011)

LeeLee graduated from CSNN Vancouver in 2011, and has a Master of Science in Experimental Pathology from the University of Alberta. She has many years of experience in research, and has taught at the University of Alberta and University of Western Ontario. In addition to teaching at CSNN, she offers nutritional consultation at a naturopathic clinic and works as a natural health advisor for a pharmacy that provides natural and holistic alternatives. Lee teaches Anatomy & Physiology, Nutritional Literature Research, Preventive Nutrition, Lifecycle Nutrition-Aging, Chemistry & Biochemistry, and Cellular Biology.

 Sarah J. Cuff, PTS, R.H.N. (2012)

Sarah J CuffSarah is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional, Personal Training Specialist, and holds a Bachelor of Social Studies from the University of Ottawa. She has been working in the fitness industry since 2004 as a fitness instructor (certified by Les Mills International), a personal trainer (certified by CanFitPro), and since 2012 as a sports nutritionist. Since founding her company, Eat 2 Run Sports Nutrition, she has successfully worked with and developed personalized sports nutrition programs for hundreds of athletes. She also regularly gives talks, seminars, and workshops in the community. As a dedicated runner, Sarah has completed 17 marathons with a personal best of 3:30:31 as well as many more half-marathons and shorter races. Sarah teaches Lifecycle Nutrition-Sports.

Cletus D’Souza M.Sc, Ph.D

CletusCletus D’Souza is a biomedical sciences researcher with a keen interest in the role of natural compounds in the prevention and treatment of chronic disease. Cletus has a Master of Science degree in Biochemistry and Nutrition, and a Ph.D in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. He has 24 years’ experience in diverse research areas that include microbial development and pathogenesis, bioinformatics of gene expression in the brain, bioinformatics of fungal genome analysis, and clinical research in integrative medicine. He strongly believes in the integration of complementary medicine with conventional medicine and the importance of bridging the gap between research and evidence-based clinical practice through sound clinical studies and knowledge translation. He actively supports raising awareness of integrative medicine through patient and physician education and promotion of healthy lifestyle choices through community awareness efforts. Cletus teaches Chemistry & Biochemistry and Cellular Biology.

Nicole Duelli, C. Hom

Nicole2Nicole Duelli is a certified classical homeopath, naturopathic practitioner (Germany) who has enjoyed sharing her knowledge of homeopathy and natural health for over 16 years. As a writer, Nicole has written dozens of articles in magazines such as Alive. She was homeopathic editor and a major contributor to Alive’s award-winning Encyclopedia of Natural Healing (1997). As an instructor, she teaches at CSNN Vancouver, supervises students at the Vancouver Homeopathic Academy, and is guest lecturer at the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine. In her Vancouver practice since 1995, she encourages everyone to test the restorative powers of homeopathy. Nicole teaches Anatomy & Physiology and Allergies.

Sara Gebriel, R.H.N. (2003)

SaraSara is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional (2003), Program Facilitator and senior instructor at CSNN, supporting instructors and students to be their best (2005-Present). She is founder of Presenthealth Consulting where she offers advanced training to guide people to who they are, what they want and how to live it. Her nutrition philosophy is, “Eat Real Food” and experiences nutrition as a vehicle to inspire consciousness through nourishing the body, balancing the mind and enlivening the spirit. Sara teaches Symptomatology II, Lifecycle Nutrition: Pediatrics, and Body-Mind-Spirit.

Kate Hutchinson, R.H.N. (2009), C.G.P., Certified GAPS Practitioner (2011), B.A.

Kate HKate is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional, a Certified GAPS Practitioner, and a mother. She runs a family-oriented nutrition consulting practice working mainly with clients on the autism spectrum, and is passionate about education, empowering families, and the connections between nutrition and mental health. Kate teaches Allergies, Lifecycle Nutrition: Aging, and Body-Mind-Spirit: Optimum Nutrition for the Mind.

Keyrsten McEwan, R.H.N. (2009)

KeyrstenKeyrsten graduated from CSNN Vancouver in 2009. Since then she has been in private practice at Integrative Healing Arts in Vancouver as well as in South Delta and specializes in weight loss and sports nutrition. She works with individuals, couples and families as well as facilitates workshops and cooking classes. She is passionate about making nutrition fun and brings clients back to basics with fresh, local, real food. Keyrsten teaches Symptomatology II and Alternative/Comparative Diets.

Julia O’Loughlin, R.H.N. (2009)

JuliaJulia is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional and graduate of the University of Victoria, where she studied the roles of women in health, food and farming. As a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional, Julia has worked in her private practice to help her clients towards a realization of their best and individual approach to balance and wellness through optimal nutrition. She is also the facilitator of a youth program called Earth Bites and works with over 200 hundred elementary school youth year round to educate them on healthy eating practices, cooking, gardening and sustainability. Julia has a keen interest in applying theories and practices of holistic nutrition to prevention of and recovery from addictions. Julia teaches Symptomatology II, Preventive Nutrition, Allergies, Alternative and Comparative Diets, Lifecycle Nutrition-Pediatrics, Body-Mind-Spirit: Optimum Nutrition for the Mind, Eco-Nutrition, and Nutritional Literature Research.

Claire Smith, R.H.N. (2014)

ClaireClaire graduated from CSNN with merit in 2014 and has over 25 years of horticultural experience with a special focus on healthy soils for sustainable food and medicinal plant production. She is a staunch advocate for soil; a critical but often overlooked factor in achieving optimal wellness for people and the planet. She is an instructor at VanDusen Botanical Gardens, helping people to grow healthy food in any setting. She has worked as a Healthy Eating Specialist at Whole Foods, and currently works in the supplement and wellness industry, helping people make informed choices. Through her own consulting business, Foodsmith, Claire helps people and gardens on their path to optimal health through both nutritional and food production counseling. Claire teaches Eco-Nutrition.

Andrea Potter, R.H.N. (2009)

Andreav2Andrea is a classically trained chef and Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional. Her love of nutrition and organic, whole foods and healthy lifestyle has been the focus of the food she’s prepared at the restaurants she has worked in since graduating from the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology for the Culinary Arts Program in 2004 and receiving her Cook’s Red Seal in 2005. Andrea is the founder of a nutritional business that teaches healthy cooking classes and offers one-on-one nutrition consultations, helping her clients to integrate healthy and delicious food choices into their lives. Her cooking classes pair sound nutrition information with whole foods based, beautifully prepared recipes. Both interactive and fun, her classes convey her love of real food, community, and culture. Andrea teaches a special series of cooking classes in whole and natural foods nutrition in our state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen.

Preeti Syal, M.Sc., R.H.N. (2010)

PreetiPreeti is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional; graduated from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition, Vancouver, BC, 2010 with Distinguished Merit. She received her Masters of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from Delhi University, India, 1997. Since then she has worked as a nutritionist at A.I.I.M.S (All India Institute of Medical Sciences), New Delhi, India and then as a dietetic technician at the General Clinical Research Centre, Stanford Hospital, California, USA. She has a passion for cooking and loves to share her culinary skills. Preeti brings her vast nutrition knowledge into practice through her well-established holistic cooking workshops at various centres in the Lower Mainland. Preeti teaches Fundamentals of Nutrition, Symptomatology I, and Preventive Nutrition.

Robert Wilson-Smith, R.H.N. (2011)

Robert Wilson-SmithRobert is a Registered Holistic Nutritionist™ professional and a professional chef. He is a graduate of New York City’s Natural Gourmet Institute (2007) and has worked in some of Vancouver’s best known vegetarian, vegan, and raw food restaurants as well as at yoga retreats in Mexico and India. Robert believes that food politics and a love for the environment cannot be separated from wellness and nutrition. He flavours his CSNN cooking classes with these beliefs and a passion for healthy food. Robert is a certified yoga teacher and has been fueled by a plant-based diet since 2000. Robert teaches a special series of cooking classes in whole and natural foods nutrition in our state-of-the-art demonstration kitchen and Symptomatology I.

Brendan Young, R.H.N. (2010)

BrendanBrendan graduated with merit in 2010 from the Canadian School of Natural Nutrition in Vancouver. Drawing from his roots in organic gardening and farming, Brendan has been working as the nutritional coordinator for EarthBites since 2011. This youth centered gardening and nutrition program allows Brendan to connect with over a thousand children each year in Vancouver elementary schools and youth clubs, teaching them how to grow their own healthy foods and turn them into yummy snacks. You can also find Brendan at the Trout Lake Farmers Market each summer where he helps his family provide fresh, local, organic produce from their Stein Mountain Farm. Brendan teaches Fundamentals of Nutrition, Symptomatology I, Nutritional Literature Research, Lifecycle Nutrition: Pediatrics, and Eco-Nutrition.

Judith Rimes, R.H.N. (2003)

JudithJudith is the Owner of CSNN’s Vancouver branch and National Academic Director. She graduated from CSNN in 2003 with a certificate of merit and also holds a Bachelor of Administration from Simon Fraser University (2000). Initially drawn to the program for personal and family health issues, her business and management background lead her to the decision to take over as owner/manager in 2006. Judith is passionate about sharing the vital role food plays to benefit one’s well-being and is delighted to see the number of students who share this belief.

Kate McLaughlin, R.H.N. (2011)

Kate MKate is our Branch Manager. She has 15 years of experience working in the communications and marketing sectors both in Canada and the UK. Kate’s fascination with the workings of the human body and the idea that food has a direct correlation with how our bodies can function and thrive (or decline in some cases) brought her to CSNN where she graduated with merit in 2011. Kate has since become a registered yoga teacher. She is passionate about Ayurveda and finding ways to bring the body back into balance.

Sandra Abraham, R.H.N. (2008)

Sandra is our Project Administrator and is responsible for all class schedules, instructor schedules, and other calendar activities in addition to supporting a variety of administrative functions. She has over 25 years of experience as an executive assistant and administrator managing multifaceted issues and projects in a wide variety of sectors. Sandra graduated from CSNN’s Vancouver branch with merit in 2008, where she was able to enhance her knowledge of nutrition and its direct effect on good health and well-being, which has always been an area of interest.


Jennifer Rapske, R.H.N. (2014)

Jenn is our Academic Advisor. Jenn has 15 years of administrative experience in a variety of workplaces related to private and public healthcare. Her passion for healthy eating and physical activity lead her to obtain a degree in human kinetics. It was during this time when she began to deepen her understanding of the connection between nutrition, optimal health, and disease prevention. Looking to further explore her personal health and wellness, Jenn enrolled at CSNN in 2013. An avid food lover and active in the community, you can find Jenn volunteering with like-minded organizations, shopping her neighborhood farmers’ market, exploring culinary hot-spots, and hiking local trails.

Lynne Faires, R.H.N. (2016)

Lynne is our Marketing & Finance Coordinator. She has over 10 years of administrative experience in numerous fields and is the owner and consultant of InTouch Nutrition. She has spent years researching the benefits of a holistic lifestyle before attending CSNN in 2014-2016. Being an active person, with a young family pushed her to find the answers to modern day health issues. Lynne is dedicated to helping others learn about whole food nutrition in an easy and non-intimidating way, while helping them build a healthy relationship with food, increase energy levels or just help them find balance in their life.

Collectively Kate, Jenn, Monica and Lynne ensure the smooth operation at our busy front desk and oversee the day-to-day administrative needs of the students and faculty.
